ISET Program

Empowered Indigenous women are the foundation for strong and healthy families and communities. That is why Manitoba Moon Voices Inc. (MMVI) is proud to deliver the Indigenous Skills & Employment Training program (ISET) in Manitoba. ISET helps Indigenous women and gender diverse individuals fully participate in economic opportunities by supporting education and skills training that can help them achieve economic independence.

Funded by the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC), the ISET Program provides help to Indigenous women and gender diverse people reach their employment and skills training goals.

Supports
can include:

  • Tuition
  • Living allowance
  • Childcare
  • Other employment supports

Eligibility

To be eligible, clients must be Indigenous – First Nation, Inuit & Métis – and/or gender diverse.  Interested candidates for the ISET program need the following:

  • 18-years of age or older;
  • Required documents;
  • Be a Canadian citizen;
  • Identify as an Indigenous woman in all their diversities (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit);
  • Be unemployed, under-employed, or can demonstrate an immediate risk of being unemployed;
  • Be seeking funding to participate in skills training or employment programming delivered in Canada;
  • Demonstrate that the training supports a Canadian labour-market outcome;
  • Apply to their First Nation, Band, Treaty organization, or Nation where applicable, before the NWAC ISET program can assess an application for funding;
  • Not be in a repayment or default situation under the ISET program or with any other funding program or agency.

MMVI may ask for additional documentation to supplement applications.
